St. Michael Catholic School Annual Auction

Planning for our annual auction is in full swing. The Auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2010. As we have already communicated, our goal for the auction is to beat last year proceeds by 10%. To do this, we need to procure a fair market value of goods and services of approximately $35,000

Procurement
The auction committee is in full procurement mode! We have spent significant time contacting businesses and individuals in an effort to insure that we have a quality inventory of auction items that will support our fund raising goals.

As of today, we have procurement paperwork for donations totaling $6,200. We need your help! While we continue to work with local businesses and benefactors, we need you to start turning in your procurement forms and items. If we are to reach our goal for the year, it is critical that all families procure the required amount (parish members $200, non parish members $1,000) and it is not too soon to start turning in procurement forms. And, of course, any additional items that you can procure above and beyond your family requirement will be greatly appreciated. Procurement letters and forms are available outside the office and on the auction web site.

Guest List and Invitations
Auction invitations will be going out next week. They will be sent home to all school families and mailed to all St. Michael parishioners. We are extending an open invite to all Holy Cross (Lake Stevens/Granite Falls) parish members also. If you know of anyone or any groups of individuals that do not fit into these invite categories, but that you would like to invite, please contact Catia Manuel at cmanuel4@comcast.net to arrange to have them added to our mailing.

Please plan to attend the auction! There will be great items at all price points available for purchase during the silent and live portions of the auction. Examples of items already pledged include vacation homes (local, regional, national, and international locations), an heirloom canvas portrait package, many gift certificates to local dining establishments, tickets to several local sporting events (including a signed UW football), heavy machinery rental, tutoring services, school supplies, sporting equipment, home decorations, and many passes for popular local attractions.

Website
Our auction website is now up and running! Check it out at www.smauction.org. On the site, you can find procurement letters and forms, auction communications, auction contact information, updates on our procurement goal, and a continually updated list of items that will be up for auction. Check back often to see new items added as we progress through our procurement process.

Other Auction Activities
Each class has started planning and preparing to create two separate products for auction. Parent volunteers will lead these efforts and you may be called upon to assist with the class projects. Please support your students, fellow parents and teachers in this effort.

Many of you have already agreed to volunteer for the auction and we are starting to contact those who have expressed a willingness to help with set up and clean up.

Thanks for your help!
