St. Michael Catholic Grade School Staff
Kindergarten - 1st Grade Teacher Mr. Tim WeatherbieHello. My name is Tim Weatherbie. I was born and raised in Anacortes, Washington, thus being a northwest native. I knew when I was in 6th grade I wanted to be a teacher. After attending WWU and doing post graduate work at CWU, I began teaching in Tacoma, followed by many years in Marysville. I have taught Kindergarten at Immaculate Conception & Our Lady of Perpetual Help school in Everett from September 2007 through June 2009. I thoroughly enjoy teaching Kindergarten! My wife, Vicki (a first grade teacher at Immaculate Conception & Our Lady of Perpetual Help school) and I have three boys. They have all completed high school, the youngest starting college and the older two boys beginning their carreers. We all enjoy traveling and all kinds of beaches. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with the children of St. Michael School . I hope my guidance will help to make each child’s Kindergarten experience a fun and successful one. I am glad to be here! You can contact Mr. Weatherbie at t.weatherbie@smpschool.org

Primary Multi-age Teacher Ms. Kyla ThompsonHello, I am Kyla Thompson. I grew up in the Snohomish area with my parents and two older brothers. I went to Saint Brendan's Parish School in Bothell from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I continued my Catholic education at Archbishop Murphy High School where I graduated in 2005. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to attend Catholic Schools for 13 years of my life. It gave me the chance to discover my faith and to develop a deeper understanding for my religion. I went on to Washington State University where I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education and recieved my Washington State Teaching Certificate. While at Washington State University, I had the opportunity to complete many practicums in the classroom setting. Last year, I was given the chance to complete my student teaching overseas on an American Army Military Post. Completing my student teaching overseas allowed me to see two diverse cultures at once; the military community as well as the German community. Since arriving back from Germany, I have spent the last five months subbing at various Catholic Schools in the area. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and having a classroom of my own. I believe that every student can and will succeed with the correct guidance. I plan on all of my students succeeding. I also believe that family is number one and that parents need to stay informed about what is going on in their students' lives at school. To help accomplish this, I will make sure that there is either a website or weekly letters. I am excited to influence these young students and help guide them to a deeper understanding of their religion and learn how to succeed in our world today. |

Intermediate Multi-age Teacher Mrs. Stephanie KonoldI was born and raised with my sister and brother in the suburbs of Boston. I earned my BS in Education from Fitchburg State College. A year later, my husband Paul and I married. He was in the Navy and we transferred to San Diego where we started our family, which comprises our son Mark and our daughters Michelle and Jacqueline. When Paul retired from the Navy, we moved to Connecticut and I taught at St. Joseph School in New London, CT for 14 years. I went back to school at night and earned my MA in Teaching from Connecticut College. We eventually moved to Rhode Island because of Paul's job, and while we were there, I taught at St. Francis and St. Kevin Schools in Warwick. Paul's current employer, Amgen Inc., asked Paul to take a position at its facility in Seattle and, in 2007, we moved to Washington and settled in Bothell. I have 24 years experience teaching in Catholic Schools and have taught all grades Pre-K through 8. In addition to teaching in Catholic schools, I completed a 3-year leadership program in the Diocese of Norwich, CT for lay ministry. During my internship year, I started a Pre-K religious education program at St. Matthias Parish in East Lyme, CT and went on to manage it for six years. I also attended all my husband's classes with him during his first year of studies for the permanent diaconate. I am a lay Eucharistic minister, and my husband and I have been involved in marriage preparation ministry for the past 18 years. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading biographies, trying new recipes and going out dancing with my husband. No matter where I have taught, I have truly believed that God has sent me there for a reason, and it is no different this time. I believe that God has sent me to St. Michael School for a reason and, I thank God everyday for this opportunity. I also thank everyone at St. Michael Parish for making me feel so welcome. I am very pleased to be at St. Michael School and I look forward to contributing to its success in the years ahead You can contact Mrs. Konold at s.konold@smpschool.org
